X'mas illumination :)

In Tokyo, most of department stores, started to decorate their shops to Christmas theme. Actually they did it since beginning of November!! It's hard to believe, just one day after Halloween, Christmas season is coming too soon here.

I was crazy enough to rode my bicycle during freezy and windy night to take a shot. It was taken at Shiodome Sio-cite. It's not a big one yet, there is one mall near my apartment, No.1 of recommend place from most of website. Will check it out, it just started light up this week :)






BTW, I went to Burger King on Tuesday, not too long queue as I thought. Might be it's a bit late though. No hash brown yet, so sad (T_T).

Showa Kinen Koen in Autumn

Once again with Showa Kinen Koen in Tachikawa, same place, but in Autumn theme ;)

At first I planned to go to Matsumoto Castle in Nagano but too tired from yesterday trip and I traveled worth the ticket value already. It’s better to get rest and stay around Tokyo. Again, after check the Koyo report website it said – good time for Showa Kinen Koen. It was a bit late when I decided to go but never too late :P

47 min from Tokyo to Nishi-Tachikawa station by Ome Special Rapid. I reached the park almost 3 PM, only 1 and half hours left before park closed. Park is very big and I got little clue where the Ginkgo line trees are. That’s not a big problem, just follow the people. They should come here with same reason as me ;).

I came to this park before in Spring-Summer season, last time a bit disappoints with “Flowers Festival”. Showa Kinen Koen in Summer

But this time is different, it’s very nice!!! Walking pass the lines of Ginkgo trees looks very romantic scene though. But can’t apply to me, I kept sneeze along the path, may be allergic to ginkgo(?).

Then spent rest of the times stroll along the park, a lot of couples, families come here for relax. The weather was a bit cold but still there are a lot of activities in the park some play catch ball, some play badminton (in windy weather), some sleep, some play kite, some eat…

I don’t want Monday comes. Sunday forever plz!!

山寺 (Nov-17-07)

This trip once again was inspired by P’Yoot-san (who inspires me to visit Nihonsankei). It was a sudden decision, decided on Friday’s night; need to buy ticket one day before use, everything in hurry. I had to get ticket before Midori-Mado-No-Guchi closed. I got the ticket!

Next morning, got up very early (a lot early that working day), catch 2nd train to Sendai. Actually Yamadera is in Yamagata prefecture but I couldn’t reserve the seat on Yamagata Shinkansen, I didn’t want to risk standing so go to Sendai is better choice and a bit faster. It took me total 3 and half hours from my station to Yamadera station. From Sendai to Yamadera, it required change to Senzan line. Be careful coz there’s only 1 train per hour, check Senzan’s timetable before choose Shinkansen time.

BTW, I think Senzan line (仙山線) comes from Sen (仙) in Sendai (仙台) and Yama (山) in Yamagata (山形) coz this is only train connected between Sendai and Yamagata. I don’t have any reference just my opinion.

Back to the story, I have to admit than first time I saw, it’s smaller than I expected but in the same time it’s so so amazing. It was founded in 860AD, how could they built it at that time. It’s really on the mountain, amazing!.

There are total 1100 steps to reach the top building, it took me one hour to get on the top. Very very tired!! I didn’t appreciate any scenic, changing color leave along the way during climb, just wanna go to the top first. View from the top is so so nice!. Mountains are filled with green, yellow, red color as you can see from the photos below 

Another amazing, middle aged or old people here – they are very strong, healthy. A lot of them walked pass me along the way we climbed up. I felt guilt to myself for not keep exercise.

After appreciated the scenic, I was hungry, it’s time to go down. Unbelievable, food here is very expensive, for simple udon or soba, it costs 1000 yen up. I chose Sansai (山菜) udon, Kanji means mountain’s veggie. Other table also ordered this menu. It should be famous one. I thought it’s udon with a lot of veggie (yummy!). I was wrong, it’s pickled veggie. I hate pickle!!. I should realize this before since I saw a lot of veggie in process of pickle along the way during climb. Can’t help, just finish the udon, the soup taste was so sour!

Another famous food here is konnyaku ball boiled in soy sauce. It’s good though – tasty with Karashi (Japan mustard) - cheap only 100yen.

Then I went back to Sendai. Actually I want to go to Yamagata too coz I never been there but I want more to eat gyutan (crazy about food haha).

In Sendai, leaves started to change the color too. I took photos from park that I don’t know the name, it’s near the famous gyutan shop. The color is so nice, the red one. The food is so good too :P

Total distance is 806km, very tired tired!

Burger King is back!

After 6 years, now burger king is backing to business in Japan.
I'm so happy (^^)... Wanna eat hash brown ....yummy ^^

Now total 4 branches are opened around Tokyo
1. Of course, Shinjuku should be in the list for sure.
2. Ikebukuro
3. Oimachi -> I'm so happy coz this station is on my way between home-office. from 8.00-22.00
4. Sugamo

Btw, Krispy Kreme has opened 2nd branch in Yurakucho (2 stations from my apt). Of course, I already went there. I think it's less people waiting on the line compare to Shinjuku though. Also the 3rd is coming this Friday in Kawaguchi, Saitama prefecture. Keep open! then I dont have to wait for long time for HOT NOW!! Btw, I think Japan is only country that it has HOT NOW sign all the time :P

Dont know why recently my blog has a lot of photos of Tokyo Tower. I dont even understand myself ..hahahah

As promise in previous blog, another side of Tokyo Tower. Mission was completed. Anyway for 2016 side, I couldnt find a good location to take a shot. May be I have to go farther, Mori Tower in Roppongi might be a good idea. Later then (Which mean more Tokyo Tower's photos are coming) ..HeHeHe

These shots were taken on 11/14 (Wed) around 11 PM. Lucky that I went home early (than usual) and saw the ad on Yamanote screen about light up Tokyo Tower to blue.
At first, I have no clue why Blue and I thought they might light up for X'mas celebration. The day later I just knew that they purposed to mark 1st World Diabetes Day.
Just rode my lovely bicycle, actually I was on my way to post to pick up the stuff but made a bit detour to the tower. It was the right time, they changed color back at 11PM.
Unfortunately, I didnt bring my tripod with me else photos should be a lot better....

I sit and read my old posted, found last year posted about hanabi which inspired by p'yoot's postcard.

One day, I will see it by myself not just from postcard (hopefully).

I just realized that I made it! Even I missed a chance to see Sumida River Hanabi. I made more than one hanabi anyway ;)

I once wondered why they held a lot of fireworks festival almost every week across Japan. But after experienced by myself, no wonder why people like hanabi

Heard about Nagano Hanabi Taikai in winter, it sounds cool but I'm afraid I might be freeze before the fireworks end.

Today the weather was so nice, after yesterday typhoon passed. Very very clear blue sky, totally different from yesterday. It reminds me about Boyd's "Seasons change" though.

ในที่สุดหลังจากตามหามานาน ขอบคุณพี่เมย์มากกกกกมากกกกที่หอบหิ้วน้องผงเต้าฮวยมาให้
ไม่รู้ทำไมเหมือนกันปกติตอนอยู่เมืองไืทยก็ไม่ค่อยได้กิน แถมไม่เค้ยไม่เคยอยากกินเต้าฮวย แต่พอมาอยู่นี่ดันอยากกินอีก ไปตามหาตามร้านไทยก็ไม่เ้คยเจอตั้งหลายร้านด้วยนะ ไม่ใช่แค่ร้านเดียว เคยไปซื้อของยี่ห้อจีนมาแต่ทำไมไม่รู้มันไม่ยอมแข็งอ่ะ เลยต้องทิ้งไป วัยรุ่นเซ็ง -"-

Tokyo Tower

Heard from P'May and N'Bow about new light decorated on Tokyo Tower. One side is "TOKYO", another side is "2016". I dragged Ninee, after long exhausted day for her, to take photos together~ how good friend I am!

Do you wonder why 2016? Because Tokyo is one of the candidate for 2016 Olympic.


I took only one side (near my apartment), just wanna share. Another side not yet done...comin' soon :)

花火大会＠土浦 Fireworks@Tsuchiura

Just came back from one of biggest fireworks competition in Japan, the competition held in Tsuchiura in Ibaraki prefecture. Tsuchiura was quite far from Tokyo (around 1 hour 10 minutes by train).

We almost missed the last train back to Tokyo coz we tried to avoid crowded train but somehow most of people think exactly like us. The train station was very crowded. Lucky that KWKM-san negotiated with policeman allowing us to go up to train station otherwise I have no idea what we are gonna do if we miss it..

This event was really cool! Most of firework-masters from all over Japan come for this competition. In this competition it categorizes to 3 types.
1. Decided with 1 shot by how round it is and how many layer inside. From what I heard, the best is 5 layers but very difficult to make
2. Traditional Fireworks: Like a combination of fireworks
3. Star Dust (I'm not sure I spelled it correctly): Combination of fireworks with music. I like this kind of fireworks the most.

This event was differ from any fireworks I have seen. This firework took like almost 2 hours and it included best of the best from each kind of firework. Especially for star dust, it included all the final theme from each firework festival into this one...Awesome!

Tomorrow, I'll go to BBQ in Tochigi ♪♪

ยุปะ: อยากไปปีนฟูจิอ่ะ เค้าว่าปีนได้เฉพาะหน้าร้อนใช่ม่ะ แต่ว่าไม่รู้ว่าจะไปกับใคร
คุราตะ และ คามิโอะ: มาจิเตะ!!!
ยุปะ: อื้อ ครั้งนึงในชีวิตอ่ะ เราคงไม่มีโอกาสอีก
คุราตะ: ลองไปถามฟุกุชิม่าซัำงดูสิ เค้าชอบปีนเขา ให้ฟุกชิม่าซังเป็นคนวางแผนดู ถ้าได้ก็ไปกัน
คามิโอะ: อยากไปเหมือนกัน ถ้าเป็นไปได้มาจากนาโกย่า เจอกันที่ฟูจิ

วันถัดมาเราก็พุ่งไปหาฟุกุชิม่าซัง บลา บลา บลา ชักแม่น้ำทั้งร้อยสายมา สรุปฟุกุชิม่าซังก็ตกลง แล้วก็โดนคุราตะซังหักหลัง สรุปวันกันดิิบดี มีสมาชิกทั้งหมด สี่คนจากโตเกียว สองคนจากนาโกย่า เราก็ลงทุนซื้อรองเท้าใหม่เพราะรู้ว่ารองเท้าที่มีอยู่มันไม่ดีแค่เดินพื้นลื่นๆหัวก็จะคะมำตลอดเวลาอยู่แล้ว
พอใกล้ถึงวันพยากรณ์อากาศบอกว่าฝนตก ถึงวันศุกร์เลยตกลงกันว่าจะเลื่อนเพราะว่าโอกาสฝนตก 80% เลื่อนเป็นอาทิตย์หน้า แต่สรุปว่าสมาชิกเหลืออยู่สามคน เอาว่ะ สู้โว้ย

ออกเดินทางตอนวันเสาร์บ่ายสาม ไปถึงฟูจิโยชิดะก็ไปกินโฮโตวดังรูปแรกที่เห็น ก็อร่อยดีอ่ะ แล้วก็มีซาชิมิเนื้อม้า ครั้งแรกของข้าพเจ้า สีมันแดงๆหมองๆ น่ากลัวพิกล เนื้อมันก็เหนียว เหนียว เคี้ยวยาก ไม่ค่อยประทับจายยย

พอพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นแล้ว สวยมากก ข้างล่างเป็นทะเลเมฆ ทะเลหมอก ตอนที่พระอาทิตย์ค่อยๆขึ้นก็มีเสียงฮือเสียงฮาเป็นระยะ ระยะ กำลังใจดีขึ้นเป็นกองแต่มีแค่กำลังใจกำลังกายอ่ะไม่มีีแ้้ล้ว เดินไปหนึ่งโค้งพักไปห้านาที ตอนแีรกว่าจะรอฟุกชิม่าซังที่ชั้นเก้าแล้วขึ้นไปบนยอดเหมือนกัน แต่หลังจากซัดข้าวเช้าไปแล้วเนี่ย มันปวดสุขามากเลย ก็เลยชวนกันไปรอบนยอดล่ะกัน ที่นี้เลยสปีดกันแหลก คนติดชะมัดก็เลยใช้ทางที่โคตรชันขึ้นไปกัน ไอ้ช่วงจากชั้นเก้าถึงยอดเนี่ยมันจะมีทางหินที่เดินง่ายๆกะที่เดินยากๆ เราเลือกไอ้ยากๆอ่ะ เหนื่อยก็เหนื่อยแต่เร็วดี พอถึงยอดนี่กบาลแทบแตก ปวดหัวนรก แถมห้องน้ำเจือกคิวยาวเป็นกิโลอีกอ่ะ ตรูเลยไม่เข้าก็ได้ฟะ รอตอนขาลงล่ะกัน พอฟุกุชิม่าซังมาถึงประมาณเก้าโมงกว่า ไปถ่ายรูปที่ป้าย ไปเดินๆดูที่ปล่องแล้วก็ลงเลย ไอ้เดินลงนี่ก็เหนื่อยมากกกก เกร็งไปทั้งตัว มันเป็นทางสไลด์ลงอ่ะ แต่ถ้าสไลด์เร็วๆนี่อาจล้มอย่างแรง เลยค่อยๆไป แต่ก็ล้มประมาณสองสามทีได้อ่ะ กว่าจะลงมาถึงชั้นห้าก็บ่ายสอง เหนื่อยโคตรๆๆๆๆ หมดแรง

ร่างกายระบบเป็นอาทิตย์เลย วันจันทร์นี่แทบไม่อยากลุกไปทำงาน เดินลงบันไดแต่ละที่นี่ร้องโอย ร้องโอยตลอดทาง ขำตัวเองดี

ในที่สุดความตั้งใจนึงของทริปครั้งนี้ก็สำเร็จไปอีกอย่าง บันจี้จัมพ์ นิฮงซานเคย์ แล้วก็ปีนฟูจิ เย้!!!

Tamagawa Hanabi

Again with Hanabi, but this time it was really good.
Tamagawa firework festival have 2 launch spot, one in Tokyo, Setagaya-ku. Another one is Kanagawa, Kawasaki-ku. We selected to go in Kawasaki one coz we think it should be less crowded. But I think both are crowded...　
Our location is so closed to launch area, so we could see very very big fireworks. Not only see, we could feel it too. My heart beat strong and stronger after each launch...so cool! It took almost 1 hour to finish all the show. The show was so nice, very big and pretty. I really had a great time. See some of it from video below. Anyway, from video can't compare to "real" one....Looking forward for coming autumn for next hanabi

07/27/07 Maoka Hanabi....

Before N After

Went for hair salon to cut my too long hair...

Before cut, my hair was too messy like auntie...But after cut, hmm...no explaination. I never ever satisified with my haircut..ever...I dont understand why everybody after cut, they look nice but not for me...pity me..

By the way, I paid only 1995 yen with shampoo...this is very cheap. Usually cut will cost around 5000 without shampoo .. happy (^^)

Tokyo Bay's Hanabi Taikai

Today, Hamamatsucho station is a lot crowded than usual because of Hanabi. A lot of gals and guys wear Yukata, look very nice...

Hanabi, per plan, start time is 7 PM to 8 PM. So I left house at 6:30 PM and head to Takeshiba pier. I thought only me alone, it should have some space left for me to stand and watch but I was totally WRONG!! people is everywhere. Police closed Takeshiba Pier already coz it is overloaded with crowd. Then they said please go to Hinode Pier, same thing happened. At the time I reached there, fireworks is started. I got my place but it was not so good place. Anyway, if I want to get good place I may have to come since 3 or 4 PM which I chose not to do that. I have to live with what I get...

My spot is good for low level fireworks, not for big size. Yurikamome station is right there hide all amazing big size fireworks from my eyes. Even low level, it was so nice..............then 7:40 I decided to move out, and my decision was right. My next spot was so good for large sizes. I stood there until the end of fireworks. Total show time was almost 1 hour. Really impressed!

Mooka no Hanabi ~ Fireworks at Mooka City

Took a bus tour with colleagues to fireworks festival in Tochigi Prefecture, Mooka city.
Tochigi is around 2-3 hours from Tokyo by bus. Famous stuff in Mooka is pottery stuffs.
Today schedule:
- Blueberry picking (all you can eat 30 minutes)
- Temple
- Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival) and waiting for Fireworks

This is my first time seeing blueberry tree, it's a bit differ from what I expected. See real photo below. I'm not good at agriculture thing so all blueberry that I picked are a bit sour compared to other. All that they said are Amai (Sweet) but why why why I got only Sour one...I'm really bad..
After learn the trick so I could eat Amai Blueberry then... eieie

Then skip to fireworks, it was nice.. Crowded but it still left some space for 7 of us to find some seat and enjoys. It was my first time seeing fireworks in Japan, it was nice...around 25,000 fireworks in this festival. It considers as big one though.....

Anyway, taking firework photo is so difficult...I gave up!
